Here's what went down:
- Vacation to NH
- We found and bought an our dream house (with a POOL--no shit, I have a house with a pool)
- Moved everything throughout August
- The medical practice I helped start up in April has BOOMED--been swamped with that.
- Um, I FINALLY graduated--woo!
For right now, let me leave you with this fantastic smoothie recipe I cooked up after my workouts recently:
2 handfuls of frozen peaches (I buy peaches, cut and freeze 'em myself--cheaper)
1/4c of oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Vanilla Creme from Pure Protein--delish)
1c skim milk
1 heaping handful of ice cubes
Throw all in a blender and pulse first to get the frozen stuff going, then go over to smoothie mode if you have that--if not just blend the best you can at a higher speed.
400 calories
36 grams of protein
It's a full-out meal here...Full of the simple carbs you need after a workout (more on this later) and a damn good amount of protein to go back and nourish those muscles you just ripped apart--you animals. :)
I had this---at about 7:30 this morning on the drive to work, and I got stuffed--It stuck around for quite a while, it's almost two, and I had my first stomach growl. Not too shabby at all.
That's a quickie for today--get your workouts in (5 mile run, anyone?), and enjoy your Labor Day. Maybe I'll grab some beer *gasp*.
As always, Go fork yourselves,
Krissy
