I'm Krissy.
Late 20's, live in Austin (love it), married to the best person ever (no, seriously.)
...and am passionate about nutrition and fitness.
That said, I do still love some crap food--but all in moderation, right-o. I wasn't always this way, though.
This was me in about mid-late 2006.
See that person on the far right in the pink? That's me. And that wasn't the worst of it, but I kind of stopped getting pictures taken after this.
Right there I would say I'm somewhere between 225-230. I finished boxes of Cap'n crunch in a sitting. I could eat and entire box of pasta BY MYSELF. I did jack shit for activity. I worked at a restaurant at the time, so going out with friends after our shift for drinks happened A LOT. Needless to say, it's not really a mystery why I ballooned up. I was just in a bad place.
In 2008, things kind of blew up. I got my shit together, went back to school, moved back in with my parents and took a step back. I decided after ordering a big Hawaiian pizza while working hard on a class assignment that I was going to stop treating my body like crap.
A few year prior, my mom did Weight Watchers. She lost 50 pounds. My mom is my hero, and she looks fuckin' fabulous.
So, I made the decision to go with her. Solid choice. My first few weeks I dropped 4.4 pounds a week. It was my magic number!
And thus, my journey had started. I learned how to eat again (as weird as that sounds) and developed a passion for it. I wasn't huge into exercise in the beginning but started honing in on that in late 2009-early 2010.
Four-something odd years later, here I am.
HAH! Just kidding.
Without being too vain here--but my wedding pictures are easily my favorite pictures. Truth be told, I've actually lost a little more from then.
Clearly, my husband and moms (2 yes, and it's AWESOME.), brother, and sister are very serious people.
The last is more recent me with my pixie cut. I hate trying to take a 'non-stupid face' picture of myself--I always think I look so lame, haha.
So that's the long and short of my weight/fitness/whatever story.
Right now, I'm training for the 3M Half Marathon (13.1 miles) here in Austin in January. Was scared. Now psyched!
Seriously though--questions/comments/rants--please get in touch. I love, love, love talking about this stuff.
Go fork yourselves!

Such Pizzaz Krissy! I enjoyed reading this. First time I have seen a picture of you before you met Trevor. You are in a much better "space" now and you look absolutely fantastic.
ReplyDeleteKrissy,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Gracie Updyke and I came across your blog this evening. I wanted to email you but couldn't find a good link.
First off... I loved the blog. But I wanted to take a minute and share with you something big. I'm on Kickstarter, right now, bringing back Gracie's Gear. Gracie's Gear are sports bra's and tanks with a convenient zipper pocket like nobody else.
The video will share my whole story with you. From one runner to another, I appreciate any and all support. We only have 17 days left!
