Happy November--I cannot believe it's already November--holy crapolla!
So, in my short running history, October is easily the best month I've pulled so far. Here are the results:
- My Goal= 75 miles for the month. Ended up with 90.2 Miles! Wowzers--makes my 100 mile goal for "Pile on the Miles" seem totally doable.
- Weight lost= 6 pounds. Not a ton, but honestly--before the past few months of running the damn scale hadn't moved, and since I'm already in a "healthy"zone--that makes me happy.
- Inches lost= 2! To be fair the last time I had measured my waist was the beginning of July, a few weeks before I started running all the time. Again, psyched to see it.
- My paces are getting better, most consistently in the 10 and change min/mile instead of the 11+.
- I haven't had to stop and walk during a run since, like, September. I am feeling STRONG.
I started off November with a solid 5 miles--although, after the past two days of awesome runs, this one was a bit rougher. Work has been crazy, and I really busted my ass the last two days, so today's run dragged a bit. Rest day tomorrow--planning to get some strength and stretching in--really starting to feel the hill action in my left hamstring today--want to make sure I get that sucker loose for my 9 miler on Saturday. I did stick my legs in our COLD ASS POOL after my run today--so chilly, but felt great after a few minutes.
Just curious, too, duders--have any of you run the Potomac River Run Marathon? Sounds like a fun run, just wanted to get some details if you got 'em.
So--GIVEAWAY! My first one! I am so psyched that you all have clicked over here to GoForkYourselves.com that I want to give away a little prize. Two of my favorite things (I'm like fuckin' Oprah) to bring with me on my long runs:
A 3.5lb pound bag of Swedish Fish AND A Nathan QuickDraw Plus Bottle!
a Rafflecopter giveaway
By that time, we'll know who will be President, AND you could totally win this cool prize ;)
Good luck, guys!
Alright, put a fork in me-I'm cooked!
Go Fork Yourselves,

Ooh! Ooh! Pick me! I like Swedish Fish! And water too! :-) I am so glad that you have been feeling so strong lately! Looking forward to watching you do some serious mileage this month! -Megan T.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I will kill for those Swedish Fish! Awesome November. Now lets see if you can keep it up in December; Ha! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys--December is going to be rough--I've got two vacations...YIKES! James--not sure you clicked to enter, I didn't see you on my entries list, just FYI!
ReplyDeleteYou already know I'm a sucker for Swedish Fish ;)
ReplyDeleteMy November goal is 100 miles too. I was thinking that'd be easy peasy since I have a half the second weekend. But now I'm feeling super unmotivated to keep running. Here's hoping I can stick to it though!
That's one big bag of fish. :) My goal for POTM is 60 miles. I think I will make it but it might be a close thing. This actual training for a marathon thing is a new thing (even though I have already ran 2 half marathins this year
ReplyDeleteummmm...well the fish would kill Joe ;) but the water bottle is way cool. Totally psyched with all of your running! i had the kids running about 3 miles every other day over the summer...more like they had me running! But completely stopped when they went back to school :(
ReplyDeleteso I am going to start over again...tomorrow....it was 5 pm and getting dark by the time I had a minute to think today, but I am going to have the ipod loaded and ready , so that when i can get a free minute i can try to get out there!
Yay for Swedish fish! And I could totally use that water bottle. I HAVE to have water with me when I run or I'm afraid I'll die of thirst.
ReplyDeleteHaha.. I used to LOVE Swedish fish.! Yummy! That water bottle looks really neat! I've never done long distances, but training for a 10k and that may come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI totally want that water bottle! And my husband can eat the swedish fish :). Everyone wins!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to enter! I've tried candy corn (too hard to chew) but never swedish fish on a run!
ReplyDeleteGreatest post... But you're doing way better than Oprah!!! :)
